On a recent return from our Airbnb, we spotted that more drywall had been removed from our unit. We decided to clean up some of the new mess left behind by contractors and sleep a few nights at home.
We could not have timed it more perfectly because the night of November 2nd and morning of November 3rd turned out to be arguably worse for us than Hurricane Ian.
Well, it finally rained again around 10:30 pm on November 2nd and didn’t stop until the wee hours of the morning.
As you may recall, SouthernCAT secured our roofs precisely a month prior. It appears there are still holes in the roof, which likely contributed to the extra drywall removal we had.
Armed with only towels to soak up the water, we called it quits at 2:30 am, after four hours on our hands and knees.
SouthernCAT showed up around 9:30 am with a team of six people. It took them about two hours to soak up all the water. They also brought in their roofers to fix the problem and ensure this doesn’t happen again. Fingers crossed!
